ABOUT DANIEL

Daniel serves as Vice President and Commercial Underwriting Counsel for the Atlanta National Commercial Services unit. Prior to joining the NCS in 2020, he was a partner in the law firm of Seale, Smith, Zuber & Barnette, LLP located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Joining the firm in 1983, Daniel became a partner in 1986. He has an interest in varied areas of law including a concentration if the area of real estate litigation. Daniel has been a licensed title agent since 1985.
 
Daniel is a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association, Louisiana Land Title Association, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute, and Louisiana Society of Hospital Attorneys. He is an Assistant Examiner in the area of succession law for the Committee on Bar Admissions of Supreme Court of Louisiana. Daniel has frequently authored course materials and presented at seminars on various trial practice topics. He has attained the highest possible professional and ethical rating (“AV”) issued by Martindale-Hubble legal ratings directory.

Daniel has been active in his community serving as a member, and later president, of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library Board and as a board member and President of Volunteers in Public Schools. He is a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church, where he has served in various leadership positions, including chairman of its Administrative Board. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Louisiana Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and is general counsel for the United Methodist Foundation of Louisiana. In 2010, Daniel was selected as a Volunteer Activist for the Baton Rouge community by the Baton Rouge Area Speech and Hearing Foundation.
